SHERER ENDORSED BY MOBILE BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION TRADES COUNCIL
MOBILE – “To win the endorsement of the Mobile Building and Construction Trades Council is an honor which I am humbled to receive”, stated Jeremy Sherer, Democratic candidate for State Treasurer. “Furthermore, the endorsement speaks to my campaign’s efforts to be the ‘people’s Treasurer’ not one of Montgomery special interests or establishment elites”.
The Mobile Building and Construction Trades Council is composed of 15 separate labor unions from across the Gulf Coast region. Local chapters of Asbestos Workers, Laborers, Boilermakers, Painters, Carpenters, Plumbers, Electrical Workers, Iron Workers, Sheetmetal Workers, Elevator Constructors, Teamsters, and Operating Engineers unions are represented by the Council.
“To effectively manage the financial resources of taxpayers and working Alabamians, you have to be able to relate to the everyday sacrifices and financial struggles that many Alabamians endure on a day-to-day basis. Considering that I am the only candidate for Treasurer that is employed, and being part of a single-income family, I understand the sacrifices and struggles made each day by most Alabamians.”
“Today’s endorsement by the Mobile Building and Construction Trades Council happened because I am the one candidate, Republican or Democrat that can relate to working Alabamians. And, I will use my real-life experience of making tough financial decisions to enhance my judgment when crafting today’s fiscal policy necessary to achieve our dreams for tomorrow.”
“Through my experience within the legal system of representing workers, small businesses, and consumers, I have fought for those who send their hard-earned dollars to Montgomery. And, as Treasurer, I will ensure that the state’s Treasury is one that is principled in honesty, integrity and competency, while understanding its role of service to the public and taxpayers of this great state.”
